CPD Consortium is excited to collaborate with Associate Professor Carika Keulder from Wits University, School of Law in unpacking the key considerations of the “pay now, argue later” principle with reference to the Tax Administration Act No. 28 of 2011.
This principle has a significant impact on taxpayers’ financial position, making it essential for tax practitioners and taxpayers to understand its implications and the recourse available.
Join us for this session where we explore the mechanics of the “pay now, argue later” principle, compare approaches in other jurisdictions, and reflect on navigating this area of tax administration.
In this session, the following key topics will be covered:
The implications of the “pay now, argue later” principle
How and when to request a suspension of payment
Comparative perspectives: approaches in other jurisdictions
Closing reflections and an interactive question and answer discussion
