Nokuzola Cossie is a Trusts and Estates Lawyer whose career spans over a decade in corporate and private practice. Nokuzola advises high-net-worth families and individuals regarding the structuring of their estates, succession, trusts (domestic and offshore), business continuity and other ancillary fiduciary-related matters.

She has a keen interest in philanthropy and advises charitable organisations on their structuring, governance, and sustainability. She presently heads up the Fiduciary Advisory Team at Standard Bank Wealth and Investment and focuses on educating her clients about the importance of planning and continuous review of plans, as well as providing practical and solution-driven advice.

She holds a BA, LLB (Rhodes University), postgraduate diploma in law, specialising in tax law (UCT) and LLM (UCT). She is an Admitted Attorney and Notary of the High Court of South Africa.

Nitrisha Doorasamy

Offshore Fiduciary Specialist and Business Development Manager
at Standard Bank’s International Fiduciary Services

Nitrisha is responsible for expanding and growing our international fiduciary services offering in South Africa.

Prior to joining Standard Bank Offshore, Nitrisha worked in Guernsey, Channel Islands as a private capital & trusts law lawyer, for one of the world’s largest law firms. With over 10 years’ experience in the industry, Nitrisha has also worked for a large corporate trustee in South Africa, advising clients on their cross-border succession planning and structuring. She has vast experience in non-contentious private client work, including advising, drafting and the implementation of complex and bespoke trust, foundation and family office structures.

Nitrisha holds a LLB(hons) degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. She has also obtained a STEP advanced Diploma in International Trust Management, for which she achieved first position in Guernsey and most notably first position globally. Nitrisha has been recognised by Legal500, and was previously named as a Top 35 under 35 by ePrivateClient both in the Channel Islands and the United Kingdom.

Jashwin Baijoo is the Head of Strategic Engagement & Compliance.

He holds both an LLB, and LLM degree, specialising in International Tax and Business Law. Jashwin has 7 years of legal experience in various aspects of South African and international law.

He is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa with both practical litigation and consulting experience. He has worked in law firms focusing on dealing with litigation and commercial disputes.

Jashwin moved from the pure practice of law to the consulting industry and has entrenched himself within tax law, specifically dealing with the elements of cross-border taxation, corporate incorporations and compliance, and international regulatory applications.
