Monique Sass is a qualified Chartered Accountant [CA(SA)] and accomplished accounting professional with extensive experience in financial management, auditing, accounting, taxation, and higher education. Her passion for accounting began in high school, where she graduated as the top accounting student in the Western Cape in 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch and an Honours in Accountancy from UNISA. Monique completed her articles at Moore Stephens, gaining invaluable audit and client service experience in a dynamic, close-knit environment. She later discovered her passion for academia while lecturing at Nelson Mandela University, where she thrived in mentoring and engaging students. Her corporate career includes leadership roles as Financial Controller at Universal Holdings and Financial Manager at both Headset Solutions and Unifi Credit, where she managed group-level reporting across multiple African markets.
As a CA(SA), Monique brings strategic insight, analytical precision, and ethical leadership to every role she undertakes. She possesses deep expertise in budgeting, consolidations, tax advisory, financial analysis, and compliance with IFRS and SAICA standards. Currently, she serves as Academic Manager for Auditing, Management Accounting, Financial Management, and Ethics at Boston City Campus, where she develops curricula and assessments while fostering excellence in aspiring accountants. Monique’s career reflects a blend of technical mastery, professional integrity, and a strong commitment to shaping the future of the accounting profession.
